Living a life free from nerve interference should be a goal for everyone. The nervous system is responsible for all functions of the body and when interfered with, symptoms and disease result. Chiropractors call this nerve pressure or irritation a "vertebral subluxation".

The chiropractic adjustment restores the spinal vertebra back to proper position and thus removes the nerve interference. When this occurs, the body has greater ability to heal itself. Symptoms like headache, back pain and numbness subside because the natural impulse to the damaged tissue is restored. The Chiropractor does not treat the symptoms: We adjust the subluxation. Please look at our nerve chart to understand more.

The causes of vertebral subluxations are any Physio, chemical or emotional stress which is greater than our internal resistance.

Physio Stress can be from an auto accident, a slip and fall or any activity which is beyond our bodies elastic limits.

Chemical Stress is caused by any substances taken into the body in excess. Common chemical poisons are nicotine, alcohol, sugar, preservatives, pesticides, medications and environmental pollutants. Each of these in excess are toxins which cause muscle and ligament damage resulting in subluxations.

Mental Stress causes the muscles and nerves to be irritated. Anyone traveling down I-95 at rush hour knows the feeling of this emotional response. Again, the result is vertebral subluxations.

We cannot eliminate all stress factors in life. What we can do is remove the adverse affects before symptoms and disease occur. With proper exercise, rest, nutrition, body mechanics, emotional stability and freedom from subluxations we can all expect to be healthy.
